A deep link is a link that opens a specific place inside a mobile app, such as one product or one video, instead of the app's start screen.
On the web, every page has its own address. Apps did not always work that way. A deep link gives a screen inside an app its own address, so a tap can open that exact screen.
On iPhone this works through Universal Links, and on Android through App Links. When the app is installed, the link opens it. When it is not, the link opens the same content on the website.
Social apps often open links in their own in-app browser, which can stop a deep link from reaching the app. Some link tools add a step that asks the visitor to open the link in their main browser.
Example
A shop shares a link to one pair of shoes. On a phone with the shop's app installed, the link opens the shoes in the app, ready to buy.
In pageo
pageo links open the URL you entered. If that URL is a Universal Link or an App Link, the phone decides whether to open the app.
