Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2025. This policy describes how pageo.me ("pageo", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information.

1. Who we are

pageo is a link-in-bio and personal page service. We operate at pageo.me. When you use our site or connect your account, we act as the data controller for the personal data we collect to provide and improve our service.

2. Data we collect

We collect information you provide and data we need to run the service:

  • Account data: When you sign up or log in (e.g. email, name, profile image from the provider you use to authenticate).
  • Profile and content: Your page configuration (username, bio, links, social icons, theme and display preferences) that you set in the pageo admin.
  • Instagram (when you connect): If you connect your Instagram account, we receive and store data from Meta (Instagram) as described in Section 4 below.
  • Payment and subscription: When you subscribe to Pro, we work with payment providers (e.g. Razorpay). We store subscription status and transaction identifiers; we do not store your full payment card details.
  • Communications and feedback: Messages you send via contact forms, feedback, or support; and, if you subscribe to a creator's page, your email and name for that subscription.
  • Technical and usage data: Session data (e.g. IP, user agent), logs necessary for security and operation, and cache data (e.g. to store your Instagram media temporarily so we don't call Meta's API on every request).

3. How we use your data

We use your data to provide, secure, and improve pageo: to display your public page, manage your account and settings, process subscriptions, respond to your messages, enforce our terms, and fix issues. We may use aggregated or anonymized data for analytics and product improvement. We do not sell your personal data.

4. Instagram and Meta (Facebook) integration

If you choose to connect your Instagram account to pageo, we use the Instagram Graph API and related Meta (Facebook) technologies. This integration is optional and only happens when you explicitly connect Instagram from your pageo settings.

Permissions we request: We request the following Instagram permissions so we can offer the features you use: instagram_business_basic and instagram_business_manage_insights. These allow us to access your Instagram business or creator account profile and media, and (where available) insights such as likes, comments, and follower count.

Data we receive from Meta/Instagram: When connected, we receive and may cache: your Instagram account ID, username, profile picture URL, and (for business/creator accounts) follower count; a list of your recent media (images, videos, reels) and their URLs, captions, and timestamps; and for each piece of media, engagement metrics (e.g. likes, comments) when provided by the API. We use this only to display your Instagram grid and optional follower count on your pageo page, and to improve the reliability of the feature (e.g. caching to reduce API calls).

How we store and use it: We store your Instagram access token and the data above in a secure manner. We do not sell or share your Instagram data with third parties for their marketing. Meta's own use of data is governed by Meta's Privacy Policy. You can disconnect Instagram at any time from your pageo settings; we will stop using new data and you can request deletion of stored Instagram-related data as in Section 7.

5. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with: (a) service providers that help us run pageo (e.g. hosting, databases, payment processing), under strict confidentiality and data protection terms; (b) Meta/Instagram when you connect your account, as described above; (c) authorities when required by law or to protect our rights and safety. We may share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably identify you.

6. Retention and security

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with law, and resolve disputes. Cached data (e.g. Instagram media) is refreshed or removed according to our technical policies. We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data; however, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update much of your information directly in your pageo account. To request access, correction, or deletion of your data (including Instagram-related data after disconnecting), contact us at the email below. We will respond within a reasonable time. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies (e.g. session storage) to keep you logged in, remember preferences, and operate the site securely. These are essential for the service. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect how pageo works.

9. Changes and contact

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of pageo after changes means you accept the updated policy where permitted by law.

For questions, requests, or complaints about this policy or your data: contact us at pageohq.team@gmail.com.
