How to use it

  1. 1

    Type your email address. Add cc and bcc if you need them.

  2. 2

    Write a subject and a short message people can send as is.

  3. 3

    Copy the link, or the HTML for a website.

Common questions

  • A link that starts with mailto: and opens the visitor's email app with the address, subject, and message filled in. The format is set by RFC 6068.

  • Spaces and line breaks have to be encoded, so a space becomes %20. Email apps turn them back into normal text.

  • It needs an email app on the visitor's device. People without one may see nothing happen, so also show your address or a contact form.
